The freedom of truth - a new perspective in new times
When thinking about people in our world where prestige and pretentiousness are often walking hand in hand and giving people a feeling of control and power, the story of the emperors clothes comes to mind. The story adresses one of the deepest truth revealing stories I have read and that in a fairy tale. The fact that people play games and dress up for occasions is literally and figuratively included in this story. The truth is not found in the chambers of the wealthy where a tone of over-exaggeration and staggering politeness is the order of the day, but everywhere around us, wherever we go. Cultures are often promoting aloofness by giving themselves the right to believe that other cultures are below their level of intelligence or achievement. This also counts for religions and the politics and the business world. It is indeed pulled into all parts of our life, including our relationships with our family, children, husband, wives, dates and friends. To speak the truth is often an opinion and not the real truth.
Isn’t it heart breaking to sees the world from this perspective? That truth is not found in any political or education, or even any other human system. You may add up the numbers at the end of the month and the number in your bank account may be correct but how much of that is true? The amount is not you, it belongs to the society in which you live. It could be more or less but a person somewhere decided that this is what you are worth and now you measure your self-worth against your earnings?
A system of manipulations and power places people into categories that they start believing in. These truths reduce their power of freedom and creativity. They swim in a system to keep alive and afloat. The less you think for yourself and “out of the box” the harder it becomes to “fit in”.
Mass manipulation is part of our system. The media makes us believe that we need things like a leather jacket to feel good. They instigate competition. They promote fear and negative news and call it truth.
These circumstances and this world-view cannot be changed unless every person in every culture stops in his/her tracks and asks the one big question: “What is the truth?” If the emperor doesn’t wear any clothes, why does he pretend? Accept the fact that you can change your approach by keeping to one set of values and ethics: the ultimate truth. The truth will set you free. Your mind will no longer be restricted. It will be able to do math and you will be able to dance in the street without fear of whatever “they” say.
You can choose to work for yourself as an entrepreneur and not for a boss who boxes you in and tags you. Your creativity which you were born with can flow again and no restriction of any kind can hold you back.
The truth is that in truth lies trust and trust gives you the foundation to build your family your business your friends, your marriage and your relationship with God- the original creator of truth and trust.
Let’s look at society with new eyes, let’s revisit our own life and ask ourselves where we live a lie and what we can do to live more truthful and trusting lives. This is not an easy approach as it calls for rethinking every aspect and rearranging every system in our lives. Ask the questions: How can honesty change a situation or system to become a place where we can trust ourselves and others. Let the God of truth be your guide as you follow the only truth there is: His love for you, to be who He originally planned you to be- a unique creation in His kingdom. The truth will set you free. John 8:32
