Praying like a sunflower
Praying. Today I am thinking about this act. It’s when you turn your eyes away from the problem and look at the solution. It’s really like the sunflower that keeps its face to the sun. 🌻
We may not know what the best solution is even though we think we know. We want a cure for this terrible Covid sickness. We want people we love, not to suffer. We want poverty and pain to disappear. We want the world to live in peace and harmony. No corruption, no theft, no lies. We want good weather and good crops. We want so many things for so many difficulties. But if we get stuck in all these wants and only see problems, our eyes are blinded by them and we cannot see the one who has the solution for everything and who sees the big picture. They may not be our hoped-for solutions, but He knows what is best for us.
I prayed so much that God would heal so many people I loved. But God wanted them in heaven and He gave me the strength to go through more trials and tribulations without them here.
I pray for Covid and Cancer and all the other crazy sicknesses to disappear but God will give us humans the wisdom to find a cure in His time. He just needs many more people in Heaven and gives us here the strength to carry on without them.
I had to learn to do many things that I never did before and thereby learned new skills when Hans my late husband passed away. Taking responsibility for everything was the hardest thing to do but I did it with God by my side.
Why do we want anyone to stay here when they have the best life in His presence? I am still praying for a cure but am thanking God for His unique journey of lessons and that He keeps us safe under ‘His wings’. Keeping our face to Him. Like the sunflowers in the field that keep their faces to the sun.
Dear God, our Father. Thank you for your love and father heart that is our guiding light through all the darkness of this world.
1. Joh 3,1 Seht welch eine Liebe hat und der Vater erzeiget das wir Gottes Kinder sollen heißen. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
