Praise to God
We have been created for one purpose only, and that purpose defines who we become.
We may think that it’s to fulfill our dreams or the big visions the world has to achieve wealth, beauty and power.
Or to become the best in our field.
Or to be famous and be worshipped by huge crowds.
These goals may give us a ‘high’ and false feeling of success for a while but this feeling of glamour disappears like mist when the sun shines through.
When aging kicks in, when sickness knocks at your door these goals don’t give us purpose anymore.
When success doesn’t come your way as you hoped it to be, you may become distraught and even depressed because your energy and motivation is no longer fueled and you may want to give up.
Egocentric goals are NOT the purpose of our existence even though we may be brought up to believe this by expectations of parents, communities and the media.
The only purpose we have is to praise God.
If our focus is on Him first our attitude changes. We no longer think about our talents and faults. Our strengths and weaknesses and our successes and failures.
When focusing on God and praising him, everything else, will no longer rule our thinking. It does not mean that hard work and achieving goals can be set aside, it means that we no longer think about ourselves all the time, but that we now think about God’s amazingness and are inspired beyond understanding.
Songs and praises to God for He blesses us and shines His light upon us and gives us peace. Praise Him for the Peace the world cannot give and all worries and fears will melt away.
“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” (Psalm 104:33)
