Blinded
How blinded we have become? It started many years ago in the garden of paradise when this sickness began. Eve was blinded by the thought of being like God. She caused a harmonic beautiful creation to fall apart. And mostly the perfection of peace by living in the direct presence of God was no longer possible. She was blinded by a desire to be like or even better than God.
Today many years and many blinded decisions of humanity later we are still living with the same blindedness. The bling of glamour, the hunger for power and wealth, the pride of beauty, the arrogance of earning more money than others, big cars, huge homes, gold and diamonds, living in huge hotels, flying around the world, seeking fame and ruling others. They all point to the same blindedness that caused Eve to stumble and to loose everything that was holy and pure.
When Jesus came to this earth he told us how to avoid looking into the blinding light of lust and greed.
He urged us to look at his cross so we could see his suffering for our blindedness so we can become as he was: humble, kind, caring, and forgiving.
May you be blessed to see the world with new eyes by seeking the eternally loving heart of Jesus and not the passing earthly wealth and glory around us.
The Lord sees the heart.
“For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, (B)but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
