Home

This small word says so much. It’s our nest where we can kick off our shoes and put our feet up. It’s where we have a cozy sofa where we can lie and watch TV or read a book.

It’s where we have our own kitchen with a stove to cook and bake delicious meals.

Where we have a garden corner to see plants grow and where we can pick a bunch of flowers or harvest some cucumbers.

It’s where we can keep a dog or three who love us and lick us when we pick them up.

It’s where you can play music and dance without wondering if other people will be offended.

It’s where you can make a fire in the fireplace and have a little Gluehwein in winter and sit cosily under a soft blanket.

It’s where you can have your own pillows and blankets and sheets and a mattress that is really comfortable.

Where you can arrange all your bottles and containers in rows and keep your cupboards as you like them to be.

It’s also where you can hang up solar lights in the garden and in the house in case the power goes down.

But most of all it’s about the people that share the space with you. It’s the ones that care about you and that you care about. It’s the ones that hug and kiss you and you can hug and kiss whenever you feel like it. It’s where you eat, laugh, cry, sing and pray together.

If you have that your life can be beautiful even if Covid knocks at the door, or people loot destroy and go crazy outside. If the politicians and philosophers speak and speak without doing anything good and if the works turns upside down,  it’s not really important because your home is where your life is. It’s your haven and that is where your heart is.

Many people have to pick up their tent/house and move for better work or other circumstances and it’s really hard to uproot your home but once you did it and found a hollow for your foot again, your energy comes back and life is good again.

If we do not have the luxury of our own kitchen or our own lounge we may still have our own bed or corner where we sleep and where we can create our own little space. Even one plant can bring life.

And if our family is not living with us anymore and the ‘birds’ are big and have flown the nest and  everyone is in their own corner we can continue to live by being grateful for the time we had with them and the time we can use to start new hobbies and make new friends or visit old ones.

Home is not really a building, it’s where your heart grows roots.

I have many places I can call home because even if I leave a place the people stay in my heart and they travel with me.

Being a child of the Godly family also means that we share the same future home. The eternal home that awaits us for the day we move for the last time,  to a place we cannot even dream of.

Let’s start this day with gratefulness for the homes we have had and to pray for blessings to all the people we knew during that time.

Lord thank you for the privilege to have a loving home. Bless every person who is part of this home.
