Reset the mindset

The little girl was walking down the street. She was looking at another little girl 👧 n the other side of the fence. She was wearing a beautiful pink dress with a big bow and matching shoes. She looked like a princess. So beautiful. Her mother said: “Dont look at the girl. She wears new clothes every day and her parents give her everything she wants. she is rich and spoiled

The girl in the garden looked at the girl in the street walking without shoes, singing and dancing as she went. She looked happy and free.

Her mother said do not look at the girl in the street. She is dirty and poor. Her parents don’t care about her.

Both girls wondered how it would be to live on the other side of the fence. The girl in the garden is called Jane and the girl in the street is called Julie. They wished they could switch their roles for one day. Their mothers had been told what their mothers had told them and this made them afraid to enter each other’s worlds.

Julie and her mother walked past the house regularly and every time she would try to see if the beautiful girl was in the garden.

A few years later Janet and Julie met at a party in town. They realized that they had met before. Jane walked over to Julie and asked her how she was doing. She told her that she had been thinking about her a lot and often wished that they could play together. Julie said that she had thought the same. They started chatting while sitting on the lawn. Both realized how wrong they had been about each other and that they were actually thinking incorrect thoughts. What if their mothers did not warn them against each other. What if they did not believe that the other was a bad person? What if they were allowed to play with each other? Their world would have been so much richer and so much more meaningful. But how did their mothers know better? They had learned what they knew from their parents. The society had turned into a dividing force that was effecting all the you g and old.

They decided they would make a difference even if only in their neighborhood. They wanted to be friends and change the mindset of all the people they knew.

It was an exciting thought as they walked in sync into the house. Their idea of society had changed as they learned the needs they had were common: to know each other as caring human beings.

Let’s have a change of heart and change the world’s mindset too.
