Trust nurtures hope

Sometimes we stand in front of a situation that we cannot change. We do all the right things and follow all the rules but then something random happens like a partner dies or a partner leaves you or a crazy virus locks you in or a child moves to another country and then suddenly all the planets are no longer aligned. Chaos begins and you need to find your balance back. You need hope in a time of confusion.

You first need to realize that you are not in control of anything. You are part of a bigger plan. People come and go out of your life. Don’t get too attached to anyone, even your kids. They need to make their own decisions and need to lead their own lives. You can only do as much as you can and the rest is really not for you to decide.

In a chaotic situation we as humans firstly try to find the answer in our minds. We ask ourselves many questions. Like, why did it happen, what is the reason for this craziness, why couldn’t it be prevented in the first place? Why do people not take decisions that are helpful to all?

All these questions cannot be answered because at the end and actually from the beginning it is not our choice, but God is in control of everything. He loves us and knows us better than anyone. One birthday my mom said to me:“I wish you what is good for you.” This meant that even bad things can happen but that they will turn out good at the end.

May we grow stronger in our faith during times of hardship and not give up and loose hope because for the children of God all things turn out to be good. “Trust and obey there is no other way”, is a children’s song. -Jesus, open our eyes to see you first and to trust that you are our guide through every phase of our lives even in times of crisis and death. Thank you for guiding us to become the best of what you intended us to be.
