Healing and Happiness

We are born to be healthy and happy human beings. We are meant to live full and good lives which include physical, psychological and spiritual growth. All these areas are meant to be the foundation of a healthy and prosperous life. We often hear the word 'balance'. Which means that we should not over-do anything whether it’s too much sleep or too little sleep, too much excercise or too little excercise, or too much eating or too little eating. Any of these extremes put pressure on our strong yet fragile body, mind and spirit. If I don’t feel well physically I am also psychologically on a lower level. Laughing comes slower than tears in such times.

So what happens when our body has a weakness and we get sick? The antibodies start fighting and you need to rest and drink water and eat fresh easily digestible food to give your body some time-out to repair itself.
Time, rest and diet are one part of it.

The other part of happiness and health is to have a positive and peaceful attitude. Even when you are not feeling well, try not to complain about everything. Rather breath deeply for a minute and contract and relax your muscles.  Keep your mind on beautiful things.

Think of a fountain in the high mountains where you drink a handful of fresh cold water and hear the birds singing. Breath the fresh morning air. Feel the fresh wind on your skin and hear the clock chiming in the church tower.

Imagine yourself to be lying on the beach with the warm sunrays kissing and warming your skin and hearing the waves crashing on the shore. Feel the peace.

Drink a lot of clear fresh water maybe with a squish of lemon juice. Watch a good movie especially comedy to make you laugh. Mr Bean is a classic. Also listen to beautiful calming music that relaxes you like Enya’s soothing songs or Bach’s uplifting harmonies.

Wait for healing and then start a few exercises. Get back on your feet slowly but surely. Too fast will weaken your heart muscles. Be patient with yourself and others. Be nice to yourself and your family and friends. Fill your heart with gratitude. Say “thank you” and “I’m so grateful”, often.

The recipe for a good life is to avoid stress as much as possible, keep to goals and a healthy balanced lifestyle. On a daily basis.

Do not smoke or drink excessively as your lungs and liver need to be clean to work effectively. If you are addicted think why and find a solution. Often it’s a shortage of Vitamin B or self-inflicted stress.
Do not eat too much greasy and sugary food and do not drink sugary drinks. They turn into fat layers around the hips, tummy and heart, which cause more health problems.

Avoid too much screen time. Get up regularly if you work on a computer and take a brisk 5 minute walk.
Sing in the shower and in your car and in a choir if you can. Exercise by walking more and driving and sitting less.

Pray every morning, evening and during the day as you think about pressures and good things. Talk to your heavenly father and friend. He hears you and carries you. Prayers lift the stress as you are sharing your burden and then handing it over to God. With a friend you can share and you feel better if you talk about it. The voicing of your emotions helps you to see the situation more objectively.

Be good and kind to yourself. Be good to people and be grateful and kind to God.

Stay healthy and keep your spirit positive. Be patient when you are sick and pray every day. Eat healthy, pray often, laugh and love abundantly and you will live a healthy and happy life.

God bless you with health and happiness! The ones who trust in the Lord will regain their strength and will fly up like eagles 🦅 Isaiah 40:31
